March 20-12, 2012: PTV VISSIM Introductory Course
The Purpose of VISSIM Introductory Course is to provide basic and advanced understanding of main functionalities in VISSIM as well as to offer hands-on experience in:
- Understanding the basics of micro-simulation in VISSIM :
- Step-by-step developing of VISSIM networks ;
- Setup of fixed time traffic controllers ;
- Public transport modelling ( PuT stops, PuT Lines, and Passenger Model) ;
- Freeway modelling ( weaving areas) ;
- Collecting output ;
- Creating animations, 3D Videos and AVIs ;
- Import/Export interface with other programs (e.g VISUM, Synchro).
March 22, 2012: PTV VISSIM – Pedestrian Simulation
The purpose of one-day training on Pedestrian Simulation in VISSIM is to introduce users to the functionalities and main principles of pedestrian simulation and to provide them with knowledge and hands-on experience in:
- Principles of pedestrian simulation and Social Force model;
- Coding of construction elements (pedestrian areas, ramps, and obstacles)
- Pedestrian route choice ( Queuing and dynamic route choice calculated in VISSIM based on travel time, density, speed or queue length)
- Pedestrian- Vehicle interaction ( Assessment on how pedestrians and vehicles impact each other when intersecting)
- Pedestrian – public transport interaction ( Allows assessment of public transport operations by populating the stations, taking boarding/alighting behaviour into account for dwell time calculations)
- Area based walking behaviour ( Area-specific walking behaviour parameters allows for full control of the simulation)
- Multi- storey modelling ( Modelling pedestrian movements within structures with multiple storeys, e.g , modelling of evacuation)
